About the event

Some spouses are able to reasonably move through the separation and divorce process and cope with bouts of anger and depression before moving on a beginning a healing process.

However, others get “stuck” in certain types of behavior that can not only create conflict in their own lives, but also with their spouse, children and co-parenting relationship as well.

This, in turn, can create a high degree of animosity in the divorce process because they do not allow for the two-way dialogue necessary for an effective negotiation.

The traditional adversarial approach to divorce is about past wrongs, fault-finding, and establishing who's right and who's wrong.

Coaching & Mediation is about understanding, discovering, inventing, and future focused agreements. To maximize your chances of coming to a resolution. A supported approach that couples coaching with mediation provides a framework to foster a spirit of co-operation and collaboration, compassion nd understanding rather than competition.

In this workshop you will learn how to assess your own Conflict Style and how that interacts with that of your spouse. You will also learn effective listening techniques, and learn to assess your needs and how to better communicate them when emotions run high.

Above all, you will walk away with practical tips to being flexible and open-minded--learning how to listen to and consider other points of view and strive to invent options which are mutually satisfying in your divorce or separation process.

General Admission: $47
